Frederick W Harrison commented (May 2020): One does not see this card very often. The market was beside the old City Hall. What is called the market building was a pump house that pumped water to the reservoir on 8th St. East hill. The cream coloured building across the street was Pleasant View Creamery/Dairy who got their raw milk from the farm on Creamery Hill. Behind that is the terrace of houses on 2nd. Ave. W. The tall building with the funnel shaped roof behind the terrace is Eaton's Brewery and that may be the Eaton house on the hill. You can also see the roughcast house that was torn down to make way for Carnegie Public Library.
One of the red brick buildings on the left beside the dairy was a harness and tack shop as late as 1960. I remember the smell of the leather, neatsfoot oil (used to dress leather), and horse linement. Miller's Garage was in one of those buildings.
